THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE
Tui Na
What is Tui Na?
Tuina is a therapeutic massage that is approximately 5,000 years old from China. It helps to stimulate the flow of vital energy, referred to as “chi,” throughout the body by working on acupressure points. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, pain and health problems occur when the flow of chi is blocked at any point along the meridian in your body. The meridian is an invisible line that connects your organs with other parts of your body. By removing the blockages, it will help to promote better circulation in the areas of concern and/or injury by breaking up the adhesions and inflammation; therefore, restoring your body’s balance of chi and improving your overall health and vitality.

What to expect?
Before: You will not need to undress for the session so please wear comfortable clothing or stretchy workout clothes for your visit. Please remember to put your phone on silent during the session.
After: You may feel more pain and/or soreness after your initial visit. It is suggested that you do not take any over the counter or prescribed pain medication unless absolutely necessary. Pain is a signal that your body uses to communicate with you that the area needs special attention. It is also the result of Master Yan separating the adhesions to help improve the circulation to the area.Master Yan explains that when you experience bruising and pain in an area, it is due to the blood being “stuck” and unable to circulate properly throughout the body. He refers to this as “dirty blood.” The goal is to get fresh blood to the area by separating the adhesion, which will facilitate repair and healing.
